DESCRIPTIVE RESEARCH

The research is descriptive research methods that seek to describe and interpret the objects according to what it is (Best, 1982:119). This research is also often called noneksperimen, because in this research study did not control and manipulation of study variables. With descriptive methods, the study makes it possible to make the relationship between variables, hypothesis testing, developed a generalized, and developed a theory which has universal validity (West, 1982). In addition, research is also descriptive study, in which data collection to test the research questions or hypotheses related to the objec and current events. They report the state of the object or subject under study in accordance with what it is.

Descriptive research is generally done with the main objective, namely to systematically describe the facts and characteristics of the studied object and sobjek appropriately. In a recent development, descriptive research method is also widely done by the research for two reasons. The first, derived from empirical observation that most of the research report done in descriptive form. Second, the descriptive method is very useful to get a variety of issues related to education and human behavior.

Besides these two reasons as mentioned above, descriptive studies generally attract young researchers, because of its very sedarhana easily understood without requiring complex statiska techniques. Although they are not reality. Because this study was also able to be displayed in a more complex, for example, in a factual depiction of the development of research schools, groups of children, as well as individual development. Penenelitian descriptive can also be developed in the direction of naturalistic penenelitian using descriptive malalui specific cases or to research deep natural setting and reported in thick phenomenological description (in-depth description) or the ex-postfacto research with a more complex relationship between the variables.

A good descriptive studies actually have a process and realize that just like other quantitative research. In addition, this study also requires a thorough action on each of the components in order to describe the subject or the object under study near kebenaranya. For example, the goal should be clearly described, significant problems under study, the research variables can be measured, sampling techniques must be carefully determined, and the right relationship or comparison dilaukan need to get a picture of the object or subject under study is complete and correct.

In a descriptive study, researchers did not specify the manipulation of variables and events that will happen, and usually involve current events happening right now. With deskriptifi research, allowing researchers to answer research questions related to the variable relationship or association, and also look for comparative relationship between the variables.
Has a unique descriptive study as follows.
Descriptive study using questionnaires and interviews, respondents often get very few yag, usually result in making conclusions.
Descriptive study that uses observation, sometimes in the data collection did not obtain sufficient data. It is necessary for the observer who is trained in observation, and if necessary make a check list of the first objects to be seen, so that researchers obtain the desired data in an objective and reliable.
Descriptive studies also require problems to be identified and formulated clearly, so that in the field, researchers had no difficulty in capturing the necessary data.
